Location
Alan is an award-winning public relations professional with years of experience in higher education communications. Alan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine in May 2016 with a B.A. in Journalism and Honors, after which he began working as a reporter for The Journal Tribune in Biddeford, Maine, covering local news in coastal York County.
He previously served as the Digital Media Specialist for the University of Southern Maine, overseeing the day-to-day operations of USM's official social media accounts, producing the university’s monthly television show, creating content for web and social media, drafting university policy documents, and maintaining accurate social media branding consistent with university brand standards.
As Public Relations Strategist for UNE, Alan plays a key role in developing strategic communications in multiple forms, including web stories, press releases, and media pitches, as well as writing executive email communications, talking points, and quotes for senior leadership.
When he's not behind his computer, Alan can be found running/exploring Portland's seemingly endless trails, trying out a new local eatery, or at home in the kitchen, where he develops recipes for his one-day cookbook.
